What is arthroplasty? If any of your joints wear out to the point of being painful, your orthopedic surgeon may suggest intervening with an arthroplasty, the surgical reconstruction or replacement of a joint.
It is a common procedure and may be the solution your surgeon suggests to relieve the pain of a degenerative joint disease.

We know that debilitating joint conditions and pain can interfere with every aspect of your life. Pain can prevent walking, exercising, working, enjoying time with family and friends, or even getting a full night’s sleep. Whilst joint replacement procedures are routine, it is still important that you prepare ahead of surgery.
Before surgery, your physician will provide you with a preparation checklist. Be sure to run through this list with them and ask any questions you may have, even if you are worried your questions are too simple or the answer is obvious!

It is important you feel completely comfortable and understand the process and your recovery. To help, we have prepared a list of FAQs here.

Our Products

We are experts in orthopedics and design our ‘bio-compatible’ products to naturally fit into the human body.
This means our materials are compatible with your biology, and our LimaCorporate technology becomes part of you.

Most LimaCorporate products are created using Titanium, a material used in most orthopedic implants. Our heritage of working with Titanium dates to 1970. In 2007 we patented Trabecular Titanium (TT), a new 3D printed technology that better supports new bone formation.
Life-changing personalized implants ProMade is LimaCorporate's custom-made design service.
In using MRI scans of your joints, we can create orthopedic implants that fit your body perfectly.
It is often chosen by physicians for treating severe articular diseases and deformities. This surgeon, for instance, used ProMade to restore her patient's motion after a car crash.

Joint Disease

Bone and joint diseases have common signs and symptoms. These can range from moderate to severe joint pain, to a loss of range of motion.
Ensure to discuss any symptoms you may be experiencing with your general practitioner or orthopedic surgeon.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is an age-related joint disease that usually affects older or middle-aged people. In the osteoarthritic joint, the cartilage wears away and bones rub against each other. The main symptoms patients experience are stiffness and pain. There is no real prevention for the development of osteoarthritis. However, checking your weight and keeping a healthy lifestyle can help. Osteoarthritis may also originate or be accelerated by subtle joint irregularities developed in childhood.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid Arthritis is an orthopedic disease that inflames and thickens the synovial membrane that surrounds joints. It is an autoimmune process that can damage the cartilage and cause its loss. Pain and stiffness are the main symptoms.

Post-traumatic Arthritis

Post-Traumatic Arthritis follows on from injuries such as bone fractures or muscle tears. Over time, articular cartilage damages and results in joint incongruity. The symptoms are pain and limited joint functions.
